A little bit about the stars:
MELUSINA
Melusina’s dance journey began in childhood with Ballet but in the mid 1990s her true passion became apparent when she was introduced to Belly Dance. The ancient Middle Eastern dance form with its rhythmic accents, rippling undulations, and emotive gestures instantly enchanted Melusina who found she had a natural propensity for the style. Her growing love of Belly Dance led her to study it intensively over many years from many inspirational teachers. She developed a unique personal style, which incorporates impeccable technical skill with passion, musicality, and a strong emotive presence. Her regular training in other styles of dance like Latin, Ballet and Contemporary also enriches her dancing and expands her knowledge of movement. Melusina also has a double major Bachelor of Arts from Melbourne University where she furthered her Middle Eastern Dance training.
SKOPALOVA
Skopalova began her performance career as a rhythmic gymnast where she medaled nationally on many occasions. After an intense 12 years in gymnastics, Skopalova expanded her talents to something a little more daring, namely burlesque and circus. She soon found herself in Melbourne's most esteemed corporate events, charity balls and fashion shows. Skopalova regularly graces the stage at Red Bennies and Ladida with entertaining, acrobatic and smoking hot shows. Performance highlights from 2012 include; Aerialist at Alumbra’s 10th Birthday, feature performer at Devils Cut Alcohol Launch & Green Fairy Absinth Event at Black Pearl. Whether she is balloon popping, ribbon twirling, hula hooping or spinning in the air, Skopalova amazes audiences with her flexibility, skill and charm!
LALLAH L’AMORE
Provocative, subversive and satirical, Lallah L’amoré arrived on Melbourne’s burlesque scene with an extensive background in performing arts, both as a professional actress and classical singer, her theatrical flair and chameleonic stage persona soon led to a resident artist role in monthly burlesque showcase Shimmy Shake and her razor-wire wit was put to good use as a resident MC at Fitzroy's Burlesque Bar. L’amoré recently collaborated to form comedy neo-burlesque troupe Precious Gift Burlesque, whose first production 'Sex Pest' opened to glowing reviews in the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Equally at home satirising social or gender stereotypes as she is singing opera, Lallah is proving herself a force to be reckoned with in the burlesque world.
CHRIS CARLOS
Starting his career as a fire performer, Chris’ obsession quickly transformed him into one of the best fire spinners in the world. After many years performing, creating, and traveling in the fire circus world, his desire to try everything and be the best at it took over and he branched out into other circus disciplines. The creative and highly skilled fire spinning acts he devised granted him an acceptance into the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) in 2009. For three years he trained Adagio, Comedy Acrobatics, and Russian Bar all while performing fire on the side. In January 2010 Chris organised and ran the first annual fire spinning festival, SpinFestival, It has been held in Melbourne and is growing each year! Chris graduated from NICA with a Bachelor of Circus Arts. Three High Acrobatics was also gifted and additional award by Circus Oz for embodying the spirit of collaboration in circus.
Miss BEAU MUNROE
This young woman is a one-stop dance machine. After training at the infamous Brent Street (SYD), gaining a Diploma of Dance Performance, and performing with the South Australian Ballet Company; it wasn’t long before Munroe was dancing on the Australasian Tour for none other than Lady Gaga and was also hired by other impressive clients like Kanye West, Sony, Foxtel, Fashion TV, and Ministry of Sound. Infusing contemporary and hip hop dance with acrobatic flair, Munroe creates her own shows that ooze skill and wow-factor. You won’t look away for a second.
PEACHEY DREAM
Peachey Dream is Melbourne's Funny Hunny. Heralding a long history of being on stage and showing off, she has been delighting folks all around the country with her unique "Disney on Ecstasy" style for years. From her humble beginnings in the west with Perth's premier troupe : Sugar Blue Burlesque, she climbed the show biz ladder, making a name for herself as a clever teaser with The Vintage Reds, appearing regularly in Perth's hotspots. From there she shimmied over to Melbourne to have her name in lights at Red Bennies, The Ruby Revue, The Australian Burlesque Festival, Bohemia Cabaret Club and at many more venues and events. In 2010 Peachey was crowned Miss Burlesque Melbourne. One fifth of the theatrical and controversial comic troupe 'Precious Gift Burlesque' This girl is the icing on the cheesecake!
DIRK HOULT
Dirk Hoult is quickly developing a reputation as one of Melbourne’s hottest up and coming cabaret performers; described as enchanting, charismatic, rousing, transporting, a limelight thief with a hilariously disturbed sense of humour. In 2011, Dirk joined Badass Production’s as performer, director and co-producer and has since produced numerous burlesque, circus and variety events including the Brass Bear Cabaret for the Melbourne Cabaret Festival and The Butcher Shop Revue for the Melbourne Fringe.
